Fall 2026 Workshop

Location: Hepburn Family Preserve Living Shoreline, Old Saybrook, CT

CAWS is excited to announce our next workshop/site walk in collaboration with SumCo Eco Contracting and GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc. at the Hepburn Family Preserve Living Shoreline in Old Saybrook. We will be hearing from the designers and engineers of Connecticut’s third living shoreline project and the challenges and solutions encountered in restoring and protecting a unique mix of coastal habitats where the Connecticut River meets Long Island Sound. 

The day will start at the Old Saybrook Town Hall, where we will spend the morning hearing from the project team and a UConn graduate student who has been monitoring the project for the past five years. From there we will journey to the village of Fenwick to see first-hand the results of this exciting project. See SumCo's website for more information on this project.
